NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION
OCCUR serves as a facilitator and intermediary bringing together neighborhood merchants/businesses, residents, government and community-based organizations to strengthen and stimulate the economic development potential of emerging communities.

DISTRICT 6 NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION – MAIN STREET PROJECT
OCCUR is currently collaborating with Mills College, Oakland City Councilmember Desley Brooks and various merchant associations in the community of Central/East Oakland on a major neighborhood revitalization effort that includes the facilitation of commercial facade improvement activity and streetscape planning. The Neighborhood Revitalization program develops and facilitates the improvement of blighted commercial properties, compatible design review and optimal use of corridor assets while working with the entire community on next steps in business growth and the future Oakland economy.
These meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month at the Mills College Department of Public Safety (5000 MacArthur Blvd. Oakland) from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. The schedule for 2010 is as follows:
