EASTMONT TECHNOLOGY CENTER
OCCUR founded the Eastmont Computing Center in 1997 in response to the ever-widening gap in technology access, usage and computer literacy in the East Bay region. For over a decade ETC has provided the following essential services to more than 400 users each week and is nationally recognized as a Community Technology Center best practice due to its work supporting users of all ages, interests and ranges of need including seniors and the disabled with a full range of services:
LION CREEK CROSSINGS NEIGHBORHOOD NETWORKS CENTER In 2007 OCCUR built on the success of the Eastmont Technology Center by establishing the Lion Creek Crossings Neighborhood Networks Center (LCC-NNC) at a newly developed Hope VI site in East Oakland. At this low-income housing facility, the LCC-NCC lab offers technology education and support services in partnership with East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC), Oakland Housing Authority, One Economy (The Beehive), and the Stride Center.
