CONSUMER EDUCATION

OCCUR provides direct consumer education, training and collateral on financial literacy, homeownership, telecommunications, public utility services, consumer discounts, low cost insurance and general information related to consumer empowerment. OCCUR staff conducts community outreach for the following programs; PG&E CARE program, PG&E Energy Partners program, and California Lifeline Telephone Service. These programs include: |

PG&E CARE/FERA PROGRAM
The CARE/FERA program provides a monthly discount on PG&E bills for income qualified households.

ENERGY PARTNERS PROGRAM
The Energy Partners program provides income qualified customers’ free energy education, weatherization measures and energy-efficient appliances to reduce gas and electric usage.
Weatherization measures may include caulking, weather-stripping, installation of showerheads, compact fluorescent lamps, and attic insulation. Free energy-efficient appliances may include refrigerators and air conditioners.

CALIFORNIA LIFELINE TELEPHONE PROGRAM
The California LifeLine Telephone program provides discounted home phone service to income qualified households.
You can qualify for California Lifeline two ways: if at least one member of your household is enrolled in a public assistance program or, if your annual household income does not exceed the income limits.
