OCCUR has been a leading community development organization in Oakland California for over 50 years.

One of the most important aspects of OCCUR is our committment to pioneering innovative and progressive new programs and projects that help communities develop economic sustainability and capacity.

OCCUR also offers technical assistance to over 1500 organizations, agencies and communities. For example, OCCUR has a long history of facilitating annual Nonprofit Conferences and Workshops.

One of the special projects for 2007 at the Eastmont Computing Center will the the implementation of the Technology Learning Zone. This important and ambitious project will combine computer training, community orientations, elearning and the latest and most innovative technology to continue our work in bridging the Digital Divide by providing the resources to bring the opportunities of the digital revolution to all communities equitably.
