David Glover has served as the Executive Director of OCCUR for over 20 years. Under David’s leadership, OCCUR has become a leader of critical efforts to build and revitalize neighborhoods and communities throughout the Greater Oakland/Bay Area region. Mr. Glover’s tireless efforts to improve the lives and conditions of low-income residents, neighborhoods and communities has been nationally recognized and commended. His commitment and innovation has led OCCUR to initiate key projects and policies such as the Eastmont Technology Center, the Neighborhood Profiles, the Oakland Equity Policy and the “A Model Built on Faith” program. He is the recipient of Community Service Awards from the Niagara Democratic Club, National Association of Black Planners, National Council of Negro Women, and the Bay Area Black United Fund, a Profile in Excellence Award from KGO TV, a Leadership Award from Black Business Listings, and an Outstanding Citizen Resolution from the City of Oakland. Mr. Glover is a founding Board Member of the Greenlining Institute and has served on the boards of the Oakland Advisors, the Stewardship Council, the Oakland Partnership and the Berkeley Law Foundation. He has produced numerous public affairs programs and related content for radio and television. Mr. Glover is very active with youth mentoring and sports leadership development. He has also received Outstanding Coaching Awards from YMCA/Metro. | |

Sondra Alexander, Director of Administration for OCCUR, brings over two decades of experience to the non-profit and faith-based community. Her multidimensional responsibilities include fiscal operations, financial planning, human resources and business management and are indispensible components of the organization’s effectiveness and success. Her skill and efficiency led to the development of the new facility for the Eastmont Technology Center in the East Oakland community. Her efforts in budgeting for vital programs such as Building and Revitalizing Neighborhood Communities, Faith-Based Initiatives, the Eastmont Technology Center and the Neighborhood Profiles have created exemplary fiscal accountability. Ms. Alexander continues to supervise and coordinate OCCUR’s internal operations. She presently serves as a board member of Ber Multinational Inc., an international community development organization, and Demetrious Inc., a public relations firm, and she is an advisory board member of Helping Hands International and Africa Unites States Partnership Fund. She has received numerous certificates and awards for community commitment and fiscal responsibility from organizations throughout the Bay Area. Ms. Alexander is also very active in mentoring youth and teens in the greater Oakland community. | |
